Hunter Heritage Gourmet Foods (formerly Newcastle's The Pudding Lady) is celebrating 30 years of hand-making Christmas puddings in the most traditional way. Originally a home based business that operated for a couple of months each year, it grew consistently until increases in volume made it necessary to construct a purpose-built commercial kitchen in Cardiff, NSW. The family recipe upon which this business is based has been handed down for five generations and Newcastle's Pudding Lady continues to make the Traditional Christmas Pudding to this same recipe in sizes from 250gm to 3kg.
While the Christmas puddings are totally traditional, the business continues to grow through innovation. Dessert pudding logs in chocolate and fruit flavours with dessert sauce accompaniments are creating new markets in Australia and overseas and the company is widely regarded as Australia's premium pudding maker.
